Are you wondering where to start with wedding planning? I recently got engaged (yay!) and have to say I’m enjoying the planning experience so far. My years of experience photographing weddings and planning styled wedding shoots have given me a bit of a head start in the planning game.

It got me thinking though… most couples don’t have this experience and wealth of information to call upon. For many newlyweds, this is a first, and some may not have been to weddings even as a guest. It could feel pretty overwhelming.

I think wedding planning is such an exciting part of the experience, and shouldn’t be tainted by overwhelm. This is why I’m always available to talk about everything wedding with my couples and share my resources.

Some brides discuss colour schemes, venue ideas, and bridesmaid dress styles with me and I love that! Other couples have their wedding vision on point from the very start of their wedding journey.

Every couple and every wedding is different – which is why I love my job as a wedding photographer so much.

I decided to put together a pdf checklist to get you started on your wedding planning journey. It’s a pretty traditional list so feel free to add to it or to edit it. It’s a great start to get you thinking about the planning process and all the different elements involved in your day.  

Have a look over it before you get too deep in the planning process and use it to keep you on track as you get closer to your big day. I’d love some feedback if you’ve found it to be particularly useful (or if you think anything should be added)
